Overview

Red River is seeking an exceptional individual for this Claremont, NH or Reston, VA based position.

 

Director, Project Management Office (PMO) Operations for our Services Engagement Division is responsible for the supporting a team of Project Managers for the delivery of all shared services projects across the organization, partnering with the customer’s business and functional areas of IT to plan, budget, and schedule and execute all projects. The Director, PMO Operations will be the expert in methodology design and use of tools/templates. This role will act as an auditor to ensure 100% quality on all projects. This individual will report to the Sr. Director of Service Engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building, operating, and transitioning a Project Management Office
  • Contribute to Project Management best practices; tailor, and implement tools, templates, and techniques
  • Optimize IT spending and resource utilization
  • Recruit, develop, and place skilled Project management resources
  • Assist with driving cultural change around project management by demonstrating the value of good project management.
  • Assist with training on tools and techniques for both presales and post sales delivery
  • Establish regular and accurate project reporting for early and often communication
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through driving project execution excellence, reviewing of customer satisfaction surveys and participation in customer meetings
  • Resolves project management and project services resource conflicts in cooperation with appropriate managers
  • Contributes to the corporate strategy to ensure the project management team's processes, tools, and people are aligned to ensure customer project needs and company financial goals are met
  • Contributes to project overviews and monitors project schedules within the defined Project Management system. Keeps management advised on project progress, potential issues, obstacles, conflicts or challenges
  • Establish frameworks for robust project management, including: tools, risk identification, decision-making responsibility and escalation.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Bachelor-level degree in management or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
