  • Overview

    The Service Operations Engineer (SOE) is responsible for orchestrating the operational components of service sales proposals.  The SOE supports the Red River sales and engineering teams with pre-sales activities that include using the scoping elements provided by the Design Engineering team to craft a Statement of Work and level of effort.  The SOE works closely with the Service Engagement organization and subcontractors to ensure the proposal meets the customer, Sales, and Design Engineering teams’ expectations, and clearly identifies assumptions, customer responsibilities, and milestones.


    Geography Target: Claremont, NH, Austin, TX, or Reston, VA


    • Create level of efforts, statements of work, and services quotes
    • Work with Resource Managers and Partners (Subcontractors) to develop delivery strategies for projects (proposals)
    • Knowledgeable of Red River rules including all sourcing limitations
    • Knowledgeable in Red River’s full service offering as well as all OEM’s utilized by the Service Engagement practice teams
    • Earn and maintain technical certifications
    • Learn and master OEM configuration tools
    • Build relationships with and leverage partners when appropriate
    • Learn about and communicate new OEM offerings and new technologies identified
    • Strong understanding of Red River’s Compliance protocols
    • Participate in Technology Services and other identified training activities and summits


    • Technical support that includes success in Level One customer-facing roles
    • Experience in IT infrastructure with focus on Storage, Backup, Databases or Network, or experience researching and configuring customer solutions
    • Foundational knowledge in core Information Technology components architecture, layout or operations
    • Understanding in IT terminology and OEMs or bid and response ot IT based solutions and capabilities

    Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:

    • BS Computer Science, Engineering or other technical degree or equivalent experience
    • Relevant technical certifications or training with key OEMs, industry
